Canberra Olympic FC

Canberra Olympic FC is an Australian semi-professional soccer club based in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. The club was founded in 1955, and currently competes in the National Premier Leagues ACT.
==History==
Olympic was founded in the early 1950s. Formally the name Olympic was decided in a General Meeting of players and committee member in 1955. The names proposed for the team was either Olympic or AEK. Olympic appears to have played in competitive games in Grade 2 in 1955. Biggest Win was 25-0 against Cooma in Division 2 on May 23, 1971 Biggest Loss has been 8-0 against RMC in 9 October 1955 playing in Grade 2, in the Competition Finals. The 1956 season was split into three Divisions, a vast improvement on the 5 teams that existed only 3 years before. The first Division was cut down from 10 teams to 8 teams. There was a Second Division which initially was set to have 9 teams, but the Naples club withdrew their team from the Division. A Reserve Grade was created and although there was promise for a number of teams to play, eventually only 4 existed. In the Second Division, Olympic won convincingly taking maximum points from the games played. This won them promotion to the 1957 Division 1 with last placed team Dnipro being relegated.
Olympic always represented the region with players in the rep squads as shown below from a representative game in 13 May 1960.
